Growing Crystals: A No School Day Experimentation

On this no school day we have decided to grow crystals.
This is a fun experiment for all the ages of kiddos in my home.
I have decided to add in an observation sheet, mostly for the older kids, but could not leave out the littles.
This way we can mark down the changes that took place with the crystals, colors, shapes, sizes.
The kids were pretty excited and kept checking on them often.
We will check back in later with any changes and new observations....

AND WE'RE BACK!
Wowie was I surprised by these gel crystals and so were the kids!

After draining them out and placing them at the table I had the group sit with their observation sheets.

They touched, smelled, turned them all around, tried to see through them and they were almost eaten more than once.
We all decided that they were rectangular, you could see light through them, they had no smell, and they felt similar to jello.
Overall I think this was a fun experiment.
Time to let them dry out and repeat.
